The Smart Retract company originated from simply wanting a better safety gate than anything on the market. Now, more than a decade later, the company has grown to focus exclusively on innovative retractable products for home or business.  Our smart products include Retract-A-Gate which is a retractable safety gate for kids and pets and the Bow Wow Barrier which is an exterior door retractable pet barrier to help keep pets from dashing outside.

In 2010, Smart Retract expanded into a large custom-remodeled facility located along the beautiful Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa.
